Beyond 12 Announces Commitment to Expand College Success at the White House!
We are honored to share that, today, Beyond 12 will participate in the White House College Opportunity Day of Action, a convening that brings together leaders from around the country to identify concrete ways to help more students prepare for and graduate from college.
We will join President Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Biden, and a group of college presidents, business, and education leaders to announce new actions to support the President’s commitment to ensure our nation reaches its goal of leading the world in college attainment by 2020.
In order to address the President’s call to action, Beyond 12 boldly committed to launching the next generation of myCoach (a tool that will allow us to bring the effectiveness of our college coaches to a critical mass of students through an Android and iOS app) and increasing the number colleges with which we partner. This will allow us to add 10,000+ low-income and first-generation college graduates by the 2020-2021 academic year.
In addition to making this commitment, Beyond 12 was one of seven nonprofit organizations to help create the College Success Coalition (CSC), a network of 100+ college success organizations proactively partnering with committed K-12 and higher education systems to increase college completion rates for the students we serve. Over the next six years, members of CSC will serve 1.7M new graduates through direct and indirect programming, with the goal of producing 1 million new college graduates by 2020.
We are thrilled to be a part of this movement and proud to join forces with the President, the First Lady, and a world-class coalition to help ensure that ALL children have the opportunity to succeed and thrive
We could not have come this far without you so please accept our deepest appreciation for your continued support of our efforts.
